THOUGHTS: “Battle of the Bottles feat. BIORÉ Sunscreens”

Biore UV Face Milk Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence Biore UV Bright Milk

Hi there! 🤗 Supposedly, this would be my first blog post because I started my blog last April 2017. I thought that sunscreen would be the best product to feature because it’s summer time here in the Philippines but I got so caught up with the other products that’s on my stash and it got left out in my drafts section. Anyway, I figured it out that I still want to post this even though summer is over here in my country because it’s always hot and humid here.

Sunscreen, Sunblock or Suncream are one of our skin care must-haves. It is considered as a vital product in our skin care routine may it be summer time or not and I know for sure that most of us are aware that we SHOULD include it to our daily routine. ☀️

So today, I’ll be comparing three products from the brand Bioré that I’ve tried and tested. Bioré is a skin care brand that originated from Japan. They offer wide variety of beauty and skincare products. So without further ado, let’s start the face off.

My Thoughts: The first product that I was able to use was the Bioré UV Perfect Face Milk Sunblock. I purchased it from Landmark for P380 or $7.45. It has 30 ml of product. I told the sales representative that I have an oily skin and they recommended this one. It comes in a handy tube bottle that has a nozzle, which I love. It dispenses just a right amount of product. It has a runny consistency and comes out as opaque white but once you blend it on your skin it instantly vanishes. What I really love the most about this product is that:

  • It doesn’t have that funky sunscreen smell that we’re all familiar with. I think it does have a very faint smell that disappears right away.
  • It does have a minimal flashback even though it has an SPF of 50+ PA++++
  • It has a velvety texture that will give you a matte finish once it’s blended. It can also act as a primer before you start your make up routine.

The tiny bottle lasted me for about 6 to 7 months given the fact that I use the sunblock everyday.

Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunblock

Maximum level of protection yet so light, it feels like nothing on the skin!

Forget about the heavy, sticky feel of regular sunscreens! The watery rich UV essence feels surprisingly light and cool, like water on your skin, absorbing instantly for an invisible, weightless finish.

USAGE: Apply evenly on face after moisturizer and before applying make up. Avoid the eye area. For best results, reapply at frequent intervals especially after perspiring, swimming, or towel drying. As with all sunscreens, cleanse thoroughly with a make up remover.

Do not stay too long in the sun, even while using a sunscreen product. Over exposure to the sun is a serious health threat. The use of sunscreen is a one way to reduce the danger of sun exposure.

My Thoughts: After several bouts of the Bioré UV Perfect Face Milk Sunblock, I decided to try another product so I switched to the Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunblock. Unlike the first one, this product comes in a much larger soft squeeze tube (50g). I purchased it from Landmark for P420 or $8.25. Unlike the first product, it doesn’t have a nozzle and the texture is more on a gel-crème like but a bit runny. It also comes with an SPF of 50+ PA++++. It blends quickly onto my skin, has a dewy finish and may be used as a primer as well. What I don’t like about this is product is that after 2 hours, my face is much oilier than the usual. I think this product is made for people with dry skin or it’s much better to use during the cold season. I ended up giving this to my sister as she has a dry skin and she told me that she liked it well.

Bioré UV Perfect Bright Milk Sunblock

My Thoughts: Last, but definitely not the least, my most recent purchase, the Bioré UV Perfect Bright Milk Sunblock. It retails for P380 or $7.45 at Landmark. It contains 30ml of product, has an SPF of 50+ PA++++. Does the same magic as the Bioré UV Perfect Face Milk Sunblock. It has a slight pinkish sheen to it but when thoroughly blended it vanishes leaving your skin looking more lively. It’s also perfect for oily to combination skin type and can be used as a make up base. I loved it even more than the Bioré UV Perfect Face Milk Sunblock due to it’s brightening effect and it’s color. The tiny bottle will also last for more than 6 months but still depends upon your usage.

So to sum it all up, the three variants has a lot in common in terms of the SPF, the texture, and it’s usage. Except that the UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is made for normal to dry skin types whilst the other two, the UV Perfect Face Milk and UV Perfect Bright Milk is great for oily to combination skin types. If you we’re able to read the product claims, I’ve emphasized the claims of the products that differ from each other.

If you read my previous posts, you’ll probably know that I do have an oily skin type that’s why I love both the UV Perfect Face Milk and UV Perfect Bright Milk. I’m a fan of their lightweight consistency, their velvety formulation and the high protection factor they have. Also, I love the fact that my skin never reacted negatively to these products. I highly recommend this products especially if you have an oily skin like me! Repurchase? Yes, but I would love to try out other brands’ version of sunscreens.

Thank you so much for reading my post and I apologize if it’s too long. What’s your favorite sunscreen? Have you tried any variant of the Bioré sunscreens? I would love to know your thoughts about it! Until my next post!

  1. Lovely inputs. I tried the Biore Aqua Rich Watery BB 3D effect PA 50+++ and it totally broke me out. Kinda bumbed about it since I really wanted it to work. Plus it was matte. Unfortunately my skin reacted to it. On top of the mystery blogger award, I also wanted to nominte you for the Sunshine Blogger Award. I hope you’ll accept. No pressure if you decline.

    1. Hello JC! So sorry to hear that the product didn’t work for you. I know how frustrating the feeling was especially if you want the product to work for you. By the way, Thank you so much for the lovely nominations, I really appreciate it. 🤗
