Have you ever feel so excited about a specific product? Hated the waiting game before it’s official release? Stalked the brand’s official social media sites for almost 24/7 looking for an update? I am proud to say that, I did!🙋
When Althea Korea announced on their social media platforms that they are about to release their first official product, I literally cannot contain my excitement! If I remember it correctly, it was around the last week of July when they initially made a hint about the brand’s own product release. I receive an email from Althea that says that I can order it in advance but when I was about to check out of my purchase the app has encountered some issues so I wasn’t able to order it before the release date. So, fast forward to the date that we, Altheans are waiting for, 1st of August, 2017.
Presenting, the ALTHEA’s Petal Velvet Powder!
Based from the information gathered from their official blog, the powder is primarily made from simple but the best ingredients to ensure quality.
Ingredients: Silica, Mica, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Methicone, Hibiscus Syriacus Seed Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Maltodextrin, Fragrance
Althea’s Petal Velvet Powder is inspired by the Althea Flower from Korea. From the scent to the look to the texture of the petals. We wanted to embody that delicacy and goodness in our powder. This loose powder is a translucent one with a silky finish, leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth to the touch, just like flower petals. Its formula is a hydrating one that keeps the skin feeling plump all day, while its micro particles work to blur pores, hide imperfections and control sebum. – Althea Korea Blog

My Thoughts: Upon receiving the Althea Box, I opened it at once to check my purchase. I go through the products one by one to make sure that it’s complete though I already knew that Althea always did a great job in packing and sending your orders. Once it’s done, I immediately picked up the two tiny pink boxes that looks like the Althea Box itself, I just thought to myself, “Oh! the mummy box has an identical twins inside her! Haha!” The boxes are absolutely adorable! I opened the baby boxes, I was enthralled by the mild floral fragrance. The powder is encased on a chic and minimalist, frosted plastic container with a pink twist cover. Inside it you’ll find a versatile, tiny but oh so fluffy puff. The product itself is super soft, velvety, and made with ultra finely milled powder particles which really provides stunning silky smooth finish.
I have read other posts from other beauty bloggers that they also use it as a primer so I tried it and I love the way my make up turned out after doing the process, it was able to blur out my pores! I also use it to set my under eye brightener or concealer and my whole face. It’s absolutely translucent it didn’t add any coverage to my face which I love. It did not cake at all, improved the longevity of my foundation and has helped control sebum on my T-Zone. I admire the silky and velvety finish it provides! Was I able to mention the scent? It’s soooooo great and I can’t help but rave it even more everytime I use it, I can just sit here and sniff it all day long! Just like others, the only downside for me is the product content, and I agree with them that it’s like the smallest setting powder ever! Well, I actually love and hate it. I love that you can easily bring it with you anywhere ‘coz it’s minuscule but the fact that I love it so much and use it literally EVERYTIME, this small product will surely won’t last me long. The main reason why I already got myself a back up.
Overall, I’m head over heels in love with this product and of course, I highly recommend it if whether you’re a make up newbie or someone who’s searching for a multi-tasking setting powder. I swear, it will not disappoint you. Plus, it’s really affordable. You can get it for only P210 from the Althea Korea website!
